1 Trick To Get Option Orders Filled Sooner

Ever wonder why some people’s orders are getting filled and yours are not? You have a working order, but other orders are getting executed ahead of yours right? So what can you do to get this filled sooner?

Here is 1 Trick…

Try to enter orders with unusual quantities. Instead of entering an order for 5 or 10 contracts, try 8 or 4 at a time to get them filled faster.

Unlike the stock market, the options market is not consolidated. There are six separate option exchanges. So depending on when your order is entered, how many contracts, and at what price, your order may go to completely different exchanges. Your options trading system may be providing you with a consolidated market view of the bid and ask volume and price. This would explain how orders arriving after yours at the same price could be executed ahead of yours. They’re being executed on different exchanges.

So to counteract this problem, try orders with unusual or non-normal quantities. An order of 8 may be split into two orders of 4 by the exchanges and executed at two different exchanges. Just this one idea may help you get into and out of trades much faster and allow you to take advantage of the market’s moves.
