Emerging Market Performance

Let’s face it – Emerging market performance over the last 10 years has been incredible. I think few of you actually realize just how great it is until you see the chart below:

Even some longtime US bulls wonder if investors are getting a bit carried away but NOT investing elsewhere. Emerging markets have a history of giddy booms and crushing busts dating back to the 19th century but they still have been relatively good performers if you can weather the storm. But they were a bright spot in 2009 — the MSCI Emerging Markets index increased 73 percent in 2009, compared with a 25 percent jump in the S.& P. 500 index. Just food for thought folks.
