About this template
Some who are new to bots, and maybe new to options, have asked if they can use only the SmartPricing feature of the platform to enter and exit stock positions. They want to make their decisions off-platform and have a bot only submit trades for them. This bot makes no entry or exit management decisions.
That's it. Buttons to buy, sell, or close all open positions. The buy stock button is configured as "Set when button is clicked" to allow input of the ticker symbol and number of shares.
Then for example, after making some trades the bot's positions may look like this.
The sell stock button is also configured as "Set when button is clicked" to allow selection of the position to close.
Clicking on the "Select position..." box displays a list of positions to choose from.
Finally, the close all button does exactly what is sound like.
Experienced bot builders will notice the sell stock automation uses a Position custom input. You may have learned the early lesson that a Position input should not be used for scanners and monitor. That is correct. This is one of a few use cases where a Position input is appropriate and required to make the sell stock button work right.
Stock trading can be more capital intensive than trading options. Set the bot's overall Allocation size to support how you plan to trade with this bot. You may also find the platform's capital limit for bots won't allow you to trade in the sizes you want within a single bot. No problem; just clone more copies of the bot and distribute your stock positions among them.
