About this template
This is the first bot I'm officially sharing here. I created this from a backtest with insane results as you can see:
It simply opens one iron condor (actually an iron butterfly) a day with 5% net liquid (changed from 5% available capital from the backtest-generated version). Here's a list of the most recent closed positions:
Here are the results from the most recent test in my paper trade account since September 11, 2023:
This was actually even more impressive since the backtest indicated it only made 5.6% more than two months after it started.
I tried running this live a few times. The last time, I also ran the same version with the same allocation in my paper trading account as a control test. The paper trading bot closed trades and performed as expected, but the live bot struggled to close trades. After the paper bot closed three trades in profit I shut the live one down since it was still in those trades days later though it had tried to close them. Perhaps I'm just impatient, but I don't see how live performance will come close to that I've seen in testing based on what I've seen so far. At least the bot doesn't require a lot of capital. $2,000 should be sufficient. I'm posting it here in hopes it can be improved upon. If we can get a fraction of the backtested performance live this bot will be a monster.
