We’ve added a brand new decision recipe for symbol type!Â
You can now filter symbols in an automation if the underlying ticker is a stock or ETF.
That may not seem significant at first glance, but it gives you another layer of precision in your bot’s decision-making processes.
For example, if you have a scanner automation that loops symbols to scan through a list of securities, there may be a mix of stock and ETF tickers in your strategy. One critical difference between the two symbol types is that stocks report quarterly earnings, impacting price action around key dates.
Now you can use this simple recipe to check if the underlying symbol is a stock or an ETF to determine the automation’s path and what decisions and criteria it subsequently references.Â
If the underlying ticker is a stock, you might want to add an additional decision recipe to check if an earnings announcement is approaching to avoid opening new positions.
If the underlying ticker symbol is an ETF, the automation will follow the “No” path and make decisions that aren’t affected by an earnings report.
We continue to add intuitive recipes to the platform so you can tailor your automations for every market variable. This new recipe increases automation flexibility and gives you even more control of your bots.
